19th july and the future...

12th July 2021

Hi everyone, just to let you all know that classes are still running during the School Holiday's. As we teach a mixture of children and adults it makes sense to stay open. Just let me know if you are going to be on holiday so I have an idea of class sizes.

Now, as Lockdown rules relax again on the 19th July we will be changing the way we operate, although in a gradual way with the emphasis on keeping everyone safe.

Although many students have had to isolate we have not had any cases of COVID-19 in the classes, and I plan to keep it that way.

So from the 19th July we will reduce the need for Social Distancing and slowly phase in partner work. Masks will be optional for all, if you want to wear one at some point in the class that is fine. We will be training bare foot once again. I will still keep to temperature checks and sanitization on entry. Also wiping down of pads, mitts etc when used and hand sanitizer before and after partner work. Gradually we will get back to normallity.

Limits on class numbers will be lifted and over the coming months a few tweaks will be made to the class structures, but that is yet to be decided upon as I would like to start to give students the option to train twice a week if they want to again.

Also in the coming weeks I will start to plan the first grading of 2021, and hopefully be able to include many of the new students as well as those that have been training for many years.

I am looking forward to the next few weeks, lets work together and stay safe and most important of all, lets enjoy our Karate training.

Thanks,

Sensei Mark
