October 2017 - Club Update

Dear Student / Parent / Guardian,

We are now at the start of October and not long until I announce the winners of this years Student Awards - just to remind you that it is a points system, giving points for classes, courses, competitions and gradings. There is still time to boost your points score!

The next few months are set to be rather busy, and the schedule is as follows:

Sunday 15th October - SKU Area Course (Hanley)

This is a FREE course with Sensei Stan Knighton (9th Dan Chief Instructor) for all grades from Red belt and above. Please bring your licence, pads, mitts etc.

11am to 12pm - ALL Grades

12pm to 1pm - Brown & Black belts only.

Location: YMCA Edinburgh House, Harding Road, Hanley, Stoke On Trent, ST1 3AE.

Monday 30th October - Grading

To be held at the Red Street dojo, I will send out grading invites and more details in the next week or two for those that are ready and eligible based on time passed and number of classes. Note there may be another grading just before the end of the year, so get those classes in. Remember you can train twice a week - Monday and Tuesday.

Tuesday 31st October - classes closed due to Halloween

Christmas Closing Dates - the last class of 2017 will be on Tuesday 19th December. Student Awards will be presented at this class, so please try to attend.

Other news, we now have a new website (you are on it now) at https://www.kaihatsu-do.co.uk you may also follow us on social media such as Facebook (all links are on the website). This will help to keep you up to date on recent news and events. On the website you will find a Members Only area, where there are training videos of Grading Combinations, this area is password protected and for use of Kaihatsu Karate Do students only - the password is available from me - please do not share the password or content with others, but please do make use of these videos. Thanks.

If you have any suggestions for the Club please feel free to e-mail them in.

Keep training hard, yours in Karate

Sensei Mark
